The practical difference
Investigate Procore for a custom project workflow or separately entitled analytical delivery, with the applicable permissions and usage agreement. Keep Buildertrend on the shortlist when a supported-grid export meets the handoff; require additional API evidence if automated writes are essential. These reviews compare documented routes (Buildertrend’s lower evidenced scope does not establish that every other integration is unavailable).
This comparison covers customer control over Procore and Buildertrend. The assessment below retains each product, route and source date; product features and native workflows need their own product evaluation.
Scores and assessment scope
These scores use the same customer-control methodology as the vendor reviews. They combine documented capabilities and conditions (unresolved scoring inputs carry an asterisk).

Name the job before choosing an interface
Procore REST is designed for transactional operations such as creating or updating RFIs, submittals and daily logs. A company administrator can custom-install a DMSA application and select the permitted projects. This supports an operational application within its granted scope.
Buildertrend’s setup guide documents an Export control on grids that support it, producing Excel. Its marketplace lists named integrations, which do not establish eligibility for an arbitrary chosen developer or a general external write API. A manual reporting handoff can fit this evidence; an unattended write workflow needs an additional documented route.

Analytics entitlement does not remove REST restrictions
Procore Analytics 2.0 documents Delta Sharing delivery and destination setup with its own SKU and permissions. Treat that as a separately entitled analytical route. The current usage guide says transactional REST is not intended for large-scale extraction outside the app’s core integration or non-complementary analytics.
The reviewed Procore API terms require a separate agreement for commercial distribution and restrict commercial-app bulk export without an additional agreement. Section 5.1 exempts an application and connected services created only for one third party. Confirm the applicable contract and use case; customer installation alone cannot settle commercial distribution rights.
Complete current access prices remain unresolved for the assessed Procore portfolio and Buildertrend export route. Obtain the named SKU, payer and recurring charges before comparing affordability. A marketplace listing or a supported download button supplies no complete price quote.

Test a weekly project report against its selection
For a proposed weekly project report, start with the required projects, fields and reporting period. In Buildertrend, grid views and filters control what appears, so save those choices with the Excel file and reconcile its selection. Repeating a download can rebuild that current selection; it cannot recreate a removed record’s previous contents.
For Procore, identify whether the report needs Analytics delivery or a permitted transactional query. Read current hourly and spike-limit headers for REST rather than assuming a fixed universal allowance. The reviewed guidance recommends webhooks with reconciliation polling; complete deletion capture and retained replay remain unverified for this assessed portfolio.

A project handoff needs documents and history too
An Excel grid or analytical table can preserve selected structured records outside the service. Neither reviewed route certifies complete drawings, messages, file versions and project history. Give the receiving team a concrete asset list and check each required item in the destination.
A successful table copy also leaves native workflow definitions and permissions to resolve. Customer post-cancellation retrieval rights are unverified in these reviews; Procore developer access terms do not substitute for the customer subscription agreement. Complete the required extraction and its scope checks before ending access.

Before you choose
- Does the handoff need a manual report, live transactional writes or analytical delivery?
- Which projects and tools can the installed application access?
- Do the applicable distribution and bulk-use agreements permit the intended extraction?
- Which documents, versions and messages remain outside the retained tables?
