Trimble Viewpoint Vista

The standalone Vista API serves a periodically refreshed AppXchange copy of cloud-hosted Vista data. Customers purchase API access and select resources/history windows during onboarding; API reads are not live SQL queries.

CUSTOMER CHOICE

Third-party accessibility

Trimble provisions the agent and SQL service user. Customers request a vendor-specific API key with selected permissions through onboarding or support; this is distinct from sharing broad account credentials.

Third-party eligibilityCustomer authorization without discretionary provider approvalSource & scope ↗
Access cost barrierHigher plan, separately licensed add-on or fixed recurring access feeSource & scope ↗
Downstream permission-Source & scope ↗

Confirm who can connect, who owns the credentials and which uses are permitted. Customer consent and provider approval can be separate requirements; the selected plan and contract still matter.

READ / INTEGRATE

API and export routes

Multi-record endpoints use continuation tokens. Invoice-cache search accepts modified-time bounds and structured filters; an empty page can still have a next token. Attachment metadata and file bytes require separate retrieval steps.

Availability depends on your product, plan and agreement. See the documentation below for the requirements of each route.

ECONOMIC ACCESS

Cost, authentication and limits

Cloud-hosted ConstructionOne Vista customers can purchase the API without another AppXchange product subscription. The API allows 2,000 requests/minute/key; records at least 2 MB are not returned, and per-object data may not exceed 20 GB.

Check API entitlement, credential ownership and rate limits for the route you intend to use. Include review fees, customer-plan upgrades and ongoing access charges in the total.

ACT FROM OUTSIDE

External action

Document Management supports an attachment-add action with a source URL. Actions queue asynchronously and require polling for their result; successful action status can coexist with per-file errors.

Validate the supported operation, acting identity and permission scope (read access does not imply write permission). Ambiguous retries and revoked credentials also affect whether an external workflow can run safely.

KEEP ACCESS USEFUL

Continuity

The agent typically refreshes the cache hourly. Selected API search endpoints expose modifiedUtcAfter; internal agent detection of deletions does not establish a customer-visible tombstone stream.

Useful ongoing access includes corrections and deletions, not only the first export. A failed request, changed filter or lost resource permission should not be interpreted as a deleted record.

LEAVE WITH YOUR DATA

Data exit and portability

JSON records and separately staged attachment bytes can leave the service. Onboarding history windows and record-size limits bound recoverable scope (changing enabled resources may incur a change-order fee).

Test the output against the destination’s required fields and history. Check stable identifiers, relationships, attachments and extraction time; a sample file proves only the coverage of that sample.

BUILD / INSPECT / REUSE

Business logic and customization

Customer integrations run external rules against fixed interfaces. Native Vista workflow rights, complete installation restoration and cancellation retrieval remain unresolved.

Custom API access, ownership of workflows and the right to export their definitions are separate questions. A custom-app capability alone does not establish that business rules can move to another system.
